Experience a fun filled family vacation to the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee while staying in a cabin named Family Memories and you can be certain it will be a big hit with Dad, Mom and the whole family.

When we first laid eyes on our cabin we knew it was going to be an awesome place to have memory making family vacations. We all have them. Fond memories of childhood vacations spent on a big family adventures together. That is what Family Memories are all about!

So how can a cabin deliver on Family Memories? First and foremost a great location. A easy on the nerves level drive to the cabin that still offers great mountain views! So now we safely found the cabin and are ready for fun, what do you have? How about spectacular amenities! The outdoor swimming pool is a nice level 5 minute walk from the cabin. And they also have a fishing pond and deli. So there is a day of fun right there without leaving the cabin. But the kids will be tired and hungry when we get back. We have that covered too. A full kitchen with everything you need, including a dish washer, to keep the everyone fed and not blow the budget. You can even get dad to join in grilling hamburgers or hot dogs out back. (no worries, we provide the gas for the grill).

Still need more to keep everyone happy? How about a movie or a bit of television, 4 large LED televisions and a dvd player (and did I mention there is a red box just down the road at the dollar general?) What happens if it rains? There is a game room down stair with a television for more family fun or even a hot tub under a covered porch in the back. Oh, but that’s not all – lets kick it up a notch. Spend a night in the back having a campfire in the fire pit telling stories, roasting smores or just relaxing under the stars!

All this and we haven’t left the cabin yet? Yes, all this and much more. But lets say we need some sightseeing or some Smokie Memories! Family Memories is centrally located and only about 12 minutes from Pigeon Forge or Townsend. Cades Cove or Gatlinburg. And only 6 minutes from the national park where there are sights to see and trails to hike!

And of course the grocery store is not far. Dollywood, alpine coasters, zip lines and countless other attractions are close by too. And there are others you may not have considered. One of the hidden gems is the Tuckaleechee Caverns just down in Townsend, education and remarkable memory maker.

Well you might say where does the rest and relaxation come in? There is no substitute for a good night’s rest. That is why all our cabins have pillow top comfort mattress’s so everyone is assured to be ready for the next day (even mom).
So have I convinced you? I’ve convinced myself – I’m going to stop here- even though I could go on and on. I am sure you get the point. Have a great vacation. When everyone is happy there is even time for a busy mom to relax! Book your family’s next vacation at our cabin and keep making those family memories! (and don’t forget to share – we love hearing from our guests)

Family Memories cabin has long been a favorite cabin with our guests! They love the fact that the cabin is very easy to reach in any kind of weather and that it has a beautiful view of the mountains, not to mention the fenced yard. It’s a highly rated cabin and the following guest reviews bears that out!
Shared from our Online Guestbook!

Wonderful Cabin

My husband and I rented Family Memories in November 2017, and we absolutely loved this place. Everything was just as advertised… actually, even better than advertised. Family Memories is hands down the cleanest cabin we’ve ever rented, and I loved the little personalized touches with specialty soaps and lotions and basket full of useful things for our stay. Very comfortable beds, and the hot tub was clean and worked perfectly. Very relaxing. Our little dog loved her stay too, and we were so happy we could bring her with us. Mr. Tisch was very polite and helpful when I couldn’t figure out how to connect to the Wifi…. operator error. He even told me he would come by and check it out if I couldn’t get my computer to connect. I was very impressed by his willingness to help me with such an insignificant problem. Five Stars, Tisch family. You and your cabins ROCK!! Sincerely, Angie & Jody R.

Beautiful Views

Our week at Family Memories was wonderful! The cabin was just what we needed for the four of us, and was especially convenient for my 91 year old mother who uses a walker. We enjoyed having all bedrooms on one floor. Everything was super clean, and the kitchen was furnished with everything we needed. The location was great as we like to go to Cades Cove and the travel time from the cabin was not bad at all. If you love great views, you will love sitting on the front deck and taking in the mountains across the way. We will definitely keep this cabin in mind when returning to the Smokies!

Amazing vacation

Wow! What an amazing place! Family Memories lived up to its name. The cabin truly became our home away from home during Thanksgiving week 2017. We felt totally at home, the cabin was so clean and the beds were super comfortable. The owners were so kind and always answered my questions in a very timely manner. We had a total of five adults and two dogs in the cabin for a week and we never felt crowded. Everyone enjoyed the fire pit. If you stay in this cabin, I recommend you really take time to enjoy the cabin itself. We cooked breakfast every morning and enjoyed our coffee while looking at the view. About the view, it would take our breath away each time we stepped outside (front, back or on the side, it doesn’t matter, you get a spectacular view). The peace and quiet of Wears Valley really helps to add to the beauty of this cabin. Mr. Donn and Mrs. Margaret – thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to stay in your beautiful cabin. We look forward to coming back to make many more Family Memories. We can also recommend Smokey Mountain Grocery and Elvira’s Café, which are both conveniently located close by.

Family Memories Cabin

If cleanliness and accessibility is your thing, this is the cabin for you!! The space was super clean and we didn’t have to travel any convoluted mountains to get there. The view of the mountain was amazing from the front porch/deck and although it was too cold for the fire pit this trip, it’s located in an open area where we would have felt safe doing so! It comfortably sleeps 6 with the option of a pull out couch in the living area. We enjoyed it!

What’s Not To Like?

Every time we stay at Family Memories, Donn & Margaret have made additional improvements all of which add to the feeling of being pampered even by the small amenities. From the fenced back yard ( for our furry family members) to the spectacular sunrises over the mountains through the sunroom windows while sipping your morning cup of coffee , it is an amazing experience. So convenient to the Park & Cade’s Cove as well as dining & shopping in quant Wears Valley. As long as our old bones will get us there, we’ll be back.

Perfect cabin/perfect location

This has been our 7th straight year renting these cabins and we absolutely love family memories. The view is awesome and the location is perfect. You are a short ride into Townsend to head to some great restaurants or the the smokies or cades cove. You’re also about 20-30 minute ride into pigeon forge or gatlinburg. We love staying on the quiet side of the smokies. We will be back again next year.

Beautiful Cabin!

My family had a great time at the Family Memories cabin in Wears Valley. The cabin was clean, and looked exactly like the pictures we saw online. Beds were comfortable and the walk in shower was very nice to use. Enjoyed the pool table and hot tub. We had a minor issue with the grill running out of gas, but after emailing Donn, he had 2 full tanks delivered by the next morning. We also enjoyed the nearby swimming pool, very nice pool. The cabin was easy to find, after a picturesque drive from Pigeon Forge into Wears Valley. We had meals at nearby Elvira’s Cafe and Hillbilly’s restaurant, both were very good. I’d recommend the cabin to anyone…5 stars!

What Wonderful Memories We Made

We so loved our stay in your beautiful cabin! Thank you for making sure we had everything we needed and more to make our time there so very comfortable! It certainly felt like home. Our kids are all older from ages 13 – 23 years and they all had a great time! We loved the view, the hot tub was incredible, the fire pit was a hit at night for smores and hotdogs, we had plenty of room for everyone to play games, and the memories made are worth more than anything! Hope we can return in years to come. Thank you for opening your home and being a blessing to others.

Excellent location for visiting the Smoky Mountains!

When vacationing in the Smoky Mountains there are tons of cabins to choose from online, all claiming to be “the best”. We had never been to the area before, so it was a bit stressful deciding where to stay, much less knowing if the accommodations were as represented on the website. We were pleasantly surprised with Family Memories! The location is perfect. Close enough to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and the park entrances, yet far enough away from the crowds to be able to truly relax at night. The cabin was much bigger than we needed (only 2 of us) but we went with this one because of the fenced in yard for our pups traveling with us. Not having to walk them on leashes each time they need to do their business outside is a huge plus! If we ever venture to the Smoky Mountains again, we would definitely see if Family Memories was available to make more memories of our own.

We have stayed in this cabin previously and it was very clean and extremely nice. We dearly enjoy the view of the mountains from the front deck. Wonderful Stay in the Smoky Mountains!

Our stay at Family Memories created wonderful memories for our family. From the onset of our reservation, Donn and Margaret alike, made everything super easy. During our stay at the lovely “Family Memories” cabin, which btw is a super convenient location with beautiful views of mountains and a valley pasture with livestock, we felt like we were being a nuisance with multiple inquiries, but each time we reached out for assistance dealing with the cabin or navigating about the area, we were always met with such a delightfully pleasant and accommodating demeanor. Donn and Margaret are genuinely and truly committed to making their guests’ stay most enjoyable.

Cabin Comforts

We have stayed at this cabin before and several upgrades were done in the interim. A new deck that goes around the side of the cabin to the front of the cabin was a great addition! It was nice to watch the stars and the full moon from the front porch deck at night The fire pit in the back yard was upgraded, a nice touch. The cabin is one level for the bedrooms with a pool table in the lower level. The one level is nice for elderly guests, like us. The hot tub was welcome every day that we were there. This cabin is also very close to Cade’s Cove so you can get there early as it fills up very quickly during the day with all the traffic in the park. We will definitely be back again. I almost forgot, the yard is fenced in and a good size, not too big or small, for your fur faced kids. We will definitely be back! Larry, Nancy, Teddy Bear, Maggie Mae

Best vacation ever!

My family recently stayed 9 days in the “family memories ” cabin and it wasn’t long enough! We had the best time in the beautiful Smoky Mountains. The views from the front porch were unforgettable, and so many things to do in town. Family Memories Cabin is in a great location between Pigeon Forge and Townsend. Our family of 5 adults and 3 children all slept comfortably. The kitchen is well-equipped. The hot tub is HUGE! Great!

We loved the Family Memories cabin. We had invited my cousin and her husband down as well. We took them several places and they loved it. It was the first time in Wears Valley, so it was a special treat for us all. We’ve been to Gatlinburg for years, but this side is so peaceful. The cabin was clean, and we are picky about that. It had everything we needed and the laundry room was spotless. Beds were comfortable and we had lots of towels. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch in the evening. We’ll be back again.

Writers’ Retreat Success

The Family Memories cabin was exactly as advertised: comfy beds, cozy fire pit, bubbling hot tub, clean, and accommodating. We had a party of six and all had plenty of space to spread out and do our own things. The owners were courteous and attentive (called to make sure everything was working properly–it was), and the surrounding area was scenic and convenient. In fact, a member of our group is from Knoxville and commended me multiple times for picking such a fabulous cabin/location. Thank you for the wonderful experience; we had a fantastic time!
