Church while on Vacation
When you’re on vacation finding a church that believes and teaches the bible like your home church can be a daunting task. While some folks like to attend a new church and meet new people, many folks take their religion very personally and have a hard time going to a new church. So what’s a body to do?
Did you know that the bible says “where ever two or three gathers in my name, there I am with them”? The words of Jesus! You can easily have a “home” church while on vacation! It is easily done and much preferable to skipping! Here is all you need to do:
1. Confess your sins asking God to forgive them.
2. Pray.
3. Sing a few favorite hymns.
4. Read the Scriptures.
5. You can also do what you’d normally do. You may wish to recite a creed, a confession of faith or repeat a blessing!
6. A good way to finish is to say the Lords Prayer.
And there you have it! You can even use this as a good training experience for children as a way of showing them that God is everywhere and can be worshiped in places other than the four walls of a church. As is often the case, when it’s useful for teaching children, it is also a great reminder for us adults! So if the devil is tempting you miss church while on vacation do not be afraid to have a church service where ever you find yourself to be! And remember, you are not alone!
