sheep shearing

Smoky Mountain Fiber Arts Festival

Meet me on March 16th & 17th in Townsend Tennessee for the Fiber Arts Festival!  Shows,  classes,  demonstrations in spinning, weaving and needlecraft.  At this Festival you will see and learn from the beginning of shearing the sheep to the ending finished handwork everything there is to know about the fiber arts!

This years event will take place at one location at the Townsend Visitor Center and at a new location the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center. Not only will there be class and demonstrations,  but there will also be vendors selling everything you might need to get started with your new found hobby!

Once again the Smoky Mountains produce an event of major importance.  Teach your family as well as yourself as to where clothing and garments actually came from in days gone by.  You won’t find Walmart here kids!  And for those of us who may be old enough to remember maybe their grandmother working at these things before they were called “arts”,  you too will get a kick out of this festival!  For more information please call 865 – 448 – 6134.

If you need a nice place to stay that’s close by check out Smoky Mountain Golden Cabins for all your cabin needs!  At Smoky Mountain Golden Cabins we cherish memories that are made at festivals like the Townsend Fiber Arts Festival!

This coincides with the Smokey Mountains quilt show will take place on March 23 to the 25th at the Maryville college in Maryville, Tennessee. (just down the road a piece)
