Two High School Football programs only 4 miles apart! They play each other every year. Over the last ten years have you ever heard of two better programs?


Maryville, Tn

Maryville is number 9 on the All Time High School Football win streak list with 76 wins in a row! From 2004 to the end of 2008 Maryville won four consecutive state championships and in doing so, 76 games in a row! Including 8 wins in 10 year over next door neighbor rival Alcoa!
Over the last 10 years Maryville High School Football Record is 144 - 6! 3 of those losses came in the state championship game, 2 came at the hand of next door Alcoa! Maryville has played in the last 9 state championship games! 7 State Championships in 10 years! 5 times in ten years they have gone 15-0! But are they even the best team in the county???

2011 Season update: Maryville was once again undefeated. They again won the state championship finishing with a perfect record. The team ended the season ranked number one in the state of Tennessee and number 7 nationally. Maryville is starting the 2012 Season with a 29 game win streak! As of right now Maryville will have two of their games televised on the local Volunteers Sports channel 2.


Alcoa, Tn

Alcoa has won the last 7 state championship games in Row! Their current win streak is 43 games in a row! Excluding the 2002 season, Alcoa's record is 121 - 12! 7 of these losses are against Maryville! 2 of the remaining losses came in state championship games!

2011 Season Update: Aloca by most standards had a pretty good year! But for the team that had won 7 state titles in a row it was very disappointing. They finished the year with an 8-5 record losing only to state ranked teams. Finally bring their season to a close in a thrilling play off game that saw the lead change several times in the closing minutes, Losing 38-37 against the Christain Academy of Knoxville. CAK went on to win the state title game and finish their year 13-2. As of right now, Alcoa is scheduled to have one of their games televised on the local Voluteers Sports Channel.

These two teams have a combined record of 265 - 8, if you exclude the losses against one another and Alcoa's 2002 Season! High School Football! Four Miles Apart! A 97% winning percentage over 9.5 Years! 14 State Championships in the last 18 years combined!

Feb 2012 Knoxville News is reporting Alcoa and Maryville football programs are in discussions with ESPN and the 2012 game may get a national Television audience this year if the scheduling can be worked out! Both coaches expressed their excitement at just being considered for such an honor. This years game is currently scheduled for Friday, August the 24th in Maryville at 7:30 pm. (this could change if the game is to be on ESPN)

If you find yourself in the Smoky Mountains on Friday Night in the fall, I highly recommend you make an attempt to attend a game! Each of these programs are nationally recognized and Big Time high School Football Programs!
